    About the Time Perception Test

The brain has no clock organ, so it estimates elapsed time from memory, attention and body signals. That is why time seems to speed up when you are busy and crawl when you are bored. Most people can judge a few seconds fairly well but drift more over longer spans.

This test runs three rounds with different targets — 5, 10 and 30 seconds, in random order. Nothing is shown while the timer runs, so you cannot read the seconds off the screen. After each round you see the signed error: negative means you stopped too early, positive means too late. Your score is the average absolute error, so smaller is better.
